I have completed my first pair of slippers! I am really happy with how they turned out. Being a beginner and all, I have to say I am impressed with myself. I am currently wearing them as I write this. Goodbye cold feet!!

Typically, when I pick up my crochet project, I watch a show, listen to music, or do it right before bed. BUT, for my next project, I want to focus on something that will be beneficial to further reduce any stress. I am thinking, for the 20-30 minutes I work on a project, I will listen to mindfulness meditation, focus on my breathing, and use that time to let go and relax. There are several guided meditations on youtube, varying in length. Some are just a couple of minutes, while others are over an hour long. I am going to test out a few, keeping track of how I feel afterwards. My goal is to feel slightly more productive when working on a project, while at the same time, getting in touch with my inner self.
What’s Next?

I am torn on what my next creation should be. I want to make a toque, similar to the style on the left, except, not baby size. At the same time, I want to try to make a headband, similar to the one on the left.
decisions, decisions…

Crocheting Tips
Now, I am no professional, but I have picked up some tricks that make the crocheting process a little easier!
- Position the ball of yarn so that it can unwind easily as you crochet.
- keep the ball of yarn in your lap or on the floor at your feet, whichever you prefer.
- Don’t be afraid to unravel!
- If you notice that you made a mistake a few rows back, rip out the stitches up to that point and try again. You will be thankful for doing it sooner rather than disliking it in the end.
- Store the project properly.
- When you get interrupted suddenly, just make the loop on your current stitch really big. That way, if it gets moved, drops or whatever else, the stitch won’t be lost.
- How to avoid hand fatigue.
- Have fun!
- Enjoy the process and be excited about the finsihed project

Hi Ivorye!
Those slippers are super cool. I used to crochet a little and I’m super impressed. I like that you chose nice neutral colours. They are perfect for fall!
